Clare Fire Service Urges Landowners To Be On Lookout For Gorse Fires

Clare’s Chief Fire Officer is urging all landowners to be on the lookout for gorse fires this week.

It comes as the Department of Agriculture has issued a High Risk fire warning for the county, with temperatures reaching the low 20s in the coming days.

The low humidity, combined with unseasonably warm temperatures in recent weeks has left ground conditions very dry meaning wildfires can spread extremely quickly.
