Ambulance Workers Reassure That Emergency Calls In Clare Will Be Answered

Members of the Psychiatric Nurses’ Association are reassuring that Emergency Calls will be answered in Clare, when ambulance workers walk off the job within the next hour.

500 ambulance workers across the country are staging a 24-hour strike from 2 o’clock, as part of an ongoing row over union recognition.

They want to be represented by the PNA as their union of choice, but the HSE says they already deal with 3 unions, and that engaging with any more wouldn’t be in the interests of workers or the public.

It’s the latest in a series of demonstrations taking place since January and the union’s Midwest Representative Derek O’Brien has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that contingency plans have been put in place.
