Nurses say University Hospital Limerick remains one of the most overcrowded in the country again today.

The latest figures from the INMO show 41 patients were waiting for beds at the region’s main hospital this morning, 28 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure is one less than Cork University Hospital, the busiest facility, and comes on a day when 509 patients are waiting on trolleys across the country.
