Electric car sales are seeing stronger growth than sales for any other engine type in Clare.
New data from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry shows 144 electric vehicles were sold in this county between July and September of this year compared to 97 in the same period last year which represents an increase of almost 50%.

Meanwhile, the third quarter of this year saw general car sales in the county rise by just under 6% from 726 last year to 769.
Director General of the Society of the Irish Motor Industry Brian Cooke is hopeful more supports will be granted in the upcoming Budget to drive electric vehicle growth going forward.
