Polling Stations Open In Clare For General Election 2020

Polling stations in Clare have officially opened this morning, as voters cast their ballots to decide who will represent the county in the next government. 

Around 91,000 people are registered to vote in Clare and anyone who is on the register can vote at their local polling station from now until 10pm tonight.

There are 15 candidates on the ballot in this county – representing Fine Gael are Joe Carey, Pat Breen and Martin Conway while Fianna Fáil are fielding Cathal Crowe, Rita McInerney and Timmy Dooley.

Sinn Féin’s candidate is Violet-Anne Wynne; People Before Profit are running Theresa O’Donohoe; Michael Leahy is representing the Irish Freedom Party; Róisín Garvey is running for the Green Party and Renua’s candidate is Conor O’Brien.

Joseph Woulfe, Michael McNamara, David Barrett and Trudy Leyden are running as Independents.

These 15 names are battling it out to win one of four seats that are to be filled in this county.
