Huge numbers of people throughout Clare and right around the world made Clare Fm their Number 1 during the General Election.
Over the weekend of the count, there were over 220,000 thousand listens to Clare FM online, added to the thousands more who were glued to their radios for the dramatic election count.
Listeners tuned in from Ireland, the UK and US but also far flung destinations including Latvia, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Mexico, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Syria and Panama.
Clare FM’s live blog of proceedings from The Falls Hotel was read 77,000 times, and the station also reached nearly 600,000 people on Twitter, while videos of the key moments at the count centre were viewed 88,000 times.
The strong figures reflect a massive interest in the General Election here, with 110,000 page views of Election 2020 stories on the station’s website over the past three weeks.
