A woman in her 90’s is recovering in hospital after she was rescued from her burning home in east Clare last night.

A woman in her 90’s is recovering in hospital after she was rescued from her burning home in east Clare last night.
The alarm was raised at around 5.00pm when a family member spotted smoke coming from the farm house at Gortavrulla, around 7 kilometres from Scarriff.
Emergency services were alerted by a family member who lives next door and helped the elderly woman to safety.
The woman was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation before being taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for further treatment.
It’s understood the fire started accidentally.
