Calls have been made for additional resources to be put in place to deal with a backlog of 230 people in the county – two thirds of these are over the age of 65.

The Chairman of the Regional Health Forum is calling on the HSE to increase audiologist services in Clare from one day a week, saying an additional ten hours could clear the backlog within six months.
