A 75-year old East Clareman has appeared in court in connection with the alleged sexual assault of one female over a three year period in the 1990s.
At Killaloe District Court, the man appeared having been charged with two counts of sexual assault against one female on dates between May 1st 1992 and May 31st 1995.
The man made no reply when cautioned. Judge Patrick Durcan granted the man legal aid and bail on his own bond of €200.
After an application from Insp John O’Sullivan, Judge Durcan said that one of the conditions of bail is that the accused must not make any contact with the alleged injured party.
Judge Durcan remanded the man on bail to re-appear before Killaloe District Court for the service of the Book of Evidence on March 3rd.
