A man who lost his life following a tragic accident in East Clare last week is being laid to rest this morning.
William (Billy) Hickey from Mountshannon passed away after being struck by a car on the main street of the town last Saturday evening.

He’s survived by his wife Eva, sons Liam and Aidan and his daughter Marie.
Billy’s Funeral Mass will take place this morning at St. Caimin’s Church, Mountshannon at 11.30am and he’ll be laid to rest this afternoon in the New Cemetery, Moynoe, Scariff.
Mountshannon Fianna Fáil Senator, Timmy Dooley, has described Billy as a gentleman and a prominent figure in the town.
