Eight people have been rescued from a boat which had run aground near the Clare shoreline of Lough Derg.

The Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat launched shortly before 12 noon yesterday to assist the vessel, following a request from the Valentia Coast Guard.
Once the volunteers were satisfied that the 38ft cruiser had not been damaged, it was towed safely to the water and the passengers on board continued their journey.
