The group tasked with assessing the future viability of the Sixmilebridge marts have been given the go ahead to try and negotiate its purchase.
It follows a meeting between the four man committee and locals in the town on Tuesday night where the mart’s potential feasibility was outlined as a potential co-op.

Locals are optimistic about the proposal but local priest Father Harry Bohan, who was at the meeting, says it will take time
