University of Limerick has been ranked in the top 500 universities in the world for the first time.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2024 announced yesterday that the Mid West third-level institution has moved into the 401 – 500 bracket.
The classification system assessed third level institutions on five aspects, namely, Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, International Outlook, and Industry.

Out of the over 1,900 universities ranked globally, Trinity College Dublin has been ranked 134th, while University College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeons are ranked in the 201-250 bracket.
