‘Lessons Need To Be Learned’ To Ensure Successful Revamp Of Leaving Cert

Clare’s TUI representative believes lessons will need to have been learned by the Government on Junior Cycle reform to ensure the Leaving Cert is revamped successfully.

Written exams for the Leaving Cert will only be worth 60 per cent of the total marks from 2024 under new proposals announced by the Department of Education.

All subjects will take on an element of continuous assessment, with Paper One of both English and Irish to be sat at the end of fifth year under the new proposals.
