Department Won’t Give East Clare School Special Dispensation To Retain Fourth Teacher – Minister

The Junior Minister for Education says her department will not be giving special dispensation to Clooney National School as it attempts to retain its fourth teacher.

Just 73 pupils were enrolled in the school last September, which is six shy of the department’s requirement to have four teachers under its 2021/22 Enrollment Schedule.

It’s understood the school has explored contacting the primary school appeals board, which is set to consider various appeals later this month.
