Clare TUI Chair Says More Engagement With Unions Needed On Exams

The Clare chair of the TUI says government must ensure it engages more with teachers’ unions this year before coming to a decision on how the Leaving Cert will proceed.

The issue is set to be the focus of this morning’s cabinet meeting, though a full decision on the matter may not come until later this week.

Teaching unions have said today they want a full traditional leaving cert, though calculated grades are believed to still be on the table for government.
