Clare Teacher’s Rep Warns Of Future Retention Crisis

A Clare teachers’ representative claims essential subjects will be under threat unless the government addresses the recruitment crisis.

The Teachers’ Union of Ireland is calling on the Department of Education to allow schools to employ teachers on a full-time basis after the current October deadline.

With schools set to reopen next week, seven positions are yet to be filled in Clare’s post-primary institutions including a permanent Deputy Principal role in Ennis.
