Roche And IDA To Engage In Talks To Find Investor For Clarecastle Site

The IDA is to engage in talks with Roche, with a view to actively pursuing an investor for the Swiss pharma giant’s brownfield site in Clarecastle.

The firm announced its intention to pull out of Clare in 2015 and two potential buyers fell through; the plant was later taken off the market with plans for remediation.

Now though, a fresh glimmer of hope has been given to the village, where Roche has been a major employer for the past 30 years, with news that new talks will be held in the coming weeks.
