Lidl Urged To Go Back To Drawing Board For Plans For Second Ennis Store

Lidl is being urged to go back to the drawing board and come up with a solution for a second Ennis store that doesn’t contradict plans for the county town.

The German discount supermarket giant had been granted permission by Clare County Council for a store between the Clare Road and Toberteascáin but that’s now been overturned by An Bord Pleanála.

The planning authority states that the scale of the “neighbourhood centre” development was too much, while it would damage the vitality of Ennis town centre.
