July Stimulus Provides Boost for Clare’s Towns And Villages – Carey

Clare’s Fine Gael TD has welcomed the July stimulus package, saying it’s the boost that the towns and villages of Clare need to survive COVID-19.

The government’s response to the economic damage of COVID-19 includes the extension of the temporary wage subsidy scheme to April 2021 and the reduction of VAT to 21 per cent until February.

The help-to-buy scheme has been expanded so first time buyers can get up to 30,000 euro off the cost of a new home.

There will also be a staycation subsidy back on 625 euro spent holidaying in Ireland which will take the form of a tax credit next year.

Deputy Joe Carey says there’s a wide range of supports in the package geared to help all parts of the county.
