Crowe Accuses Finance Minister Of “Burying Head In Sand” Over Job Losses In Clare

The Mayor of Clare is hitting out at the Finance Minister for burying his head in the sand over the hemorrhaging of jobs in Clare.

Cathal Crowe wrote to Minister Paschal Donohoe two months ago, calling on him to consider an application to the European Globalisation Fund, which provides support to communities hit by the loss of a major company.

This letter was written in response to the 700 jobs which are set to be lost in Clare this year, thanks to redundancies at Molex and Roche, among others.

Meelick Fianna Fáil Councillor Crowe, who is a general election candidate in the upcoming vote, is still waiting on a response – and he isn’t pleased.
