7,398 people in Clare have received the Pandemic Unemployment Payment this morning.
The figure is expected to reduce in the coming weeks, as businesses continue to reopen after the lifting of level five restrictions.
Nearly 600 people have officially stopped receiving the state support since the country moved to level three on December 1st.

The Department of Social Protection says that around 25,000 people across the country who closed their claims since the end of last month will still receive a payment today.
Meanwhile, the number of people who have claimed the Enhanced Illness Benefit Payment here since the pandemic began – meaning they have either been diagnosed with COVID-19 or had to self isolate – has climbed to 1,686.
