It comes as new figures from Daft.ie show house prices in Clare have risen by 6% over the past year, with the average price of a home in the county now at 156,000 euro.

It's believed that first time buyers will be incentivised to buy new homes in next Tuesday's budget, with plans expected to include a ten thousand euro tax break.

But author of the Daft.ie Report, Economist Ronan Lyons says stimulating demand may drive prices up even further.
