New figures from Daft.ie show the average asking price for a house in the county was 151,000 euro between April and June, a 9% rise on the same period last year.
This compares to a 14% rise in Galway and a 15.2% increase in prices in Limerick city, while in Dublin, the rate of inflation has remained relatively stable.
Daft.ie economist Ronan Lyons claims that as long as there is insufficient housing supply to meet demand, prices will continue to rise here.
