Donald Tusk's arrival comes as the Dáil is recalled to debate the Government's decision to appeal the 13 billion euro bill later today.

Last week the European Commission ruled Apple's tax arrangements with Ireland are illegal under state aid rules.

It's decided the tech giant owes Ireland 13 billion euro plus interest in back taxes.

After several cabinet meetings and hours of negotiations the Dáil will be recalled today to debate the decision to appeal

With the support of both Fianna Fáil and Labour the motion will pass a vote in the house tonight.

It comes as Enda Kenny is set to meet European Council President Donald Tusk this lunchtime.

The meeting is part of a series of appointments Mr Tusks has undertaken – in advance of a meeting of European Heads of State later this month.
