A number of events to commemorate the 1916 Easter Rising are being held across Couounty Clare today.
A ceremony is taking place in Kilrush, while the East Clare Memorial Committee are maintaining their decades-long tradition of remembering the contribution of men and women from that area by laying wreaths following masses in both Tuamgraney in Scariff.

In Ennis meanwhile, Sinn Fein TD Martin Ferris will speak at a ceremony at Drumcliffe Cemetery.
This Easter is the first since the Queen’s visit to Ireland, which was seen as a highly symbolic moment, and Deputy Ferris has told Clare FM that a number of gestures on that trip were warmly received
