Clare County Council is being called on to “identify key roads in East Clare that require immediate attention” and commence much-needed road upgrades.

Councillor Pat Hayes has cited heavy traffic, poor conditions and insufficient capacity as issues on minor roads in the region and says that resurfacing, road widening, improved signage and improved lighting need to be prioritised as roads are refurbished.

In response, the Killaloe Municipal District technical team has said that it is developing a phased plan for strategic road upgrades and that it will prioritise the areas in most need of resurfacing.
