It’s feared East Clare is in “no man’s land” when it comes to funding essential roads maintenance this year.
The local authority has revealed that the region will have just under €7.4 million for its schedule of municipal district works this year which is up 3% on its 2024 allocation.
The Killaloe Municipal District accounts for 28% of the county’s local and regional roads.
Maghera Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Hayes believes they could do with double that amount of money to make a meaningful dent in the problems on their roads network.
