At Ennis Circuit Court, Judge Carroll Moran said he was ‘appalled’ by John McNamara’s conduct towards Sudanese doctor Dr. Awadilla Abdelrrazig who was called to Killaloe Garda Station on the night of August 19th, 2012 to take a blood sample.

The court heard that Mr. McNamara, who is in his 50s and from Raheenabeg, Killaloe said he ‘would not let that black doctor’ near him and that efforts to take a sample were unsuccessful.

A four-year driving ban and €2500 fine, imposed on him at the District Court, was upheld, and counsel for John McNamara said his client wished to apologise to Dr. Abdelrrazig.
