East Clare could be in for an economic boost following what’s been described as exciting results on the levels of zinc and lead discovered in the Tulla area.
IMC Exploration group – which has been carrying out testing there has announced that it’s expanding it’s drilling operations , after an independent assessment of their findings confirmed promising signs regarding a large-scale base metal deposit in the area.

Its led to suggestions that Tulla could become a prominent mining area but the company is warning that any large-scale operation is at least five years away.
Further updates are expected later this year, but the firm’s managing director Dr. Glenn Millar has told Clare FM that the initial results are promising.
