An East Clare carer is calling for more supports for foster parents to be provided in the Budget.
It comes after warnings that the country may be facing a shortage of fosterers and that greater resources may be needed for those already providing care.

Current rates of the Foster Care Allowance are 325 euro a week for a child under 12, and 352 for children over 12.
Terry McCauley, who’s a principal social worker with Compass Child & Family Services in Killaloe, says these rates may need to be looked at by the Government to stop shortages.
