Early Intervention Vital In Child And Adolescent Mental Health Care Says Ennis Psychotherapist

An Ennis Psychotherapist and Counsellor says the failure to provide early intervention for children and young people with mental health difficulties can have a serious impact down the line.

It follow calls from the Ombudsman for Children for a counselling system to be embedded in schools, saying the implementation of a similar system to the UK could almost eliminate waiting lists for CAHMS.

The model being trialled in Dorset, which allocates about four dedicated mental health professionals per 7,500 school children, has seen considerable success.
