Early Childhood Ireland express concern over crèche inspection process

The organisation which represents Clare childcare providers has expressed concern efforts by facilities to address regulation breaches aren’t broadly reflected in subsequent reports.

It comes as newly released inspections into 33 crèches and preschool centres across the county highlighted infractions at 15 facilities.

Many operators told Clare FM they had been addressed but this wasn’t highlighted in the report-

The proprietor of  Little Dreamers Pre School in O’Briens Bridge – which came under the spotlight over a heater deemed to be a burning hazard as well as a broken gate and poor fencing say all of this has been addressed to the HSE’s satisfaction.

Deteriorating fencing was also an infraction at Paiste Beaga in Newline Quin but the operator there Patricia Hennessy told Clare FM that those issues have been dealt with and expressed concern this wasn’t reflected in the HSE report  which Irene Gunning of Early Childhood Ireland says its a concern
