Almost €90,000 in Government funding has been announced for planned flood defence works in West Clare.
Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works, Kevin “Boxer” Moran”, has confirmed Clare County Council’s application under the Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme has been approved.

The OPW has granted a total €88,763 to the local authority for works at the Marine Parade in Kilkee.
These will include underpinning the existing sea walls with reinforced concrete foundation, filling voids and repointing the wall over sections where necessary.
