800,000 euro in government funding has been allocated to seven Clare Community Centres, to carry out refurbishment and repairs.
It’s part of a 33 million euro Community Investment Fund, which is being described as the largest ever capital investment in community centres and will see grants of between 25,000 and 300,000 being distributed.
The Newmarket on Fergus Community Centre will receive the largest allocation in this county of 285,000 euro, while 200,000 has been allocated to the 12th Clare Tulla Scout Group.
The Broadford Development Association will receive just under 195,000, Corofin Community Hall and Field committee will get 57,400. The Lissycasey Pastoral Council and Ballynacally Development Association have each been awarded €25,000 and a further 6,000 goes to the Kilfenora Community Centre.
