More than €80,000 in funding has been announced for seven biodiversity projects in Clare.
Over €25,000 has been set aside for the Hares Project in the Burren through the Local Biodiversity Action Fund after 121 applications from landowners in this county.

€12,750 each will go towards both eliminating giant hogweed and knotweed in Clare, along with a barn owl survey for the county.
The rest of the funding will be earmarked for surveying wetland sites in the county, looking at protected species in the Burren, and addressing knowledge gaps with the Quagga mussel discovered in the River Shannon last year.
