€8.3m For Coastal Protection Works In Clare

Clare has received the largest allocation of money for coastal protection and flood defence works.

Just over 8.27 million is to be spent here, repairing damage caused by bad weather up to January 6th, as part of a near 20 million euro funding scheme which has been outlined by the Minister responsible for the Office of Public Works, Brian Hayes.

He has also said that this is the first of a possible three such allocations.

The money for Clare is included in the 16.8 million euro for repairs that has already been announced for the county, following on from the recent bad weather.
