The Minister of State for Heritage Electoral Reform has announced that over €60,000 in state funding has been granted to nine biodiversity projects in Clare.
The funding comes through the Local Biodiversity Action Fund which was launched in 2018 to enable local authorities and communities to deliver on Ireland’s national objectives for nature.
Among the projects supported in Clare are countywide surveys of wetlands, invasive alien spieces and bats as well as invasive species treatment in Killaloe, the River Shannon Quagga Mussel project and the Hare’s Corner Project.
Malcom Noonan TD has revealed that over €2.5m in funding will be given to 188 projects nationwide as part of the Local Biodiversity Action Fund.
