More than half a million euro in funding has been earmarked for upgrade works on rural roads and laneways in Clare.
The grant has been set aside as part of the Local Improvement Scheme, which specifically targets roads which are not under the normal maintenance of local authorities such as Clare County Council.
Clare’s allocation is a 5 percent increase on its 2020 funding, with the monies provided to be complemented by a financial contribution from local landowners or householders, as well as local authority resources.
