Close to half a million euro in Government funding has been granted for ten projects in Clare to develop local facilities and amenities in rural areas.
The funding, announced by Rural and Community Development Minister Heather Humphreys, is being provided under the CLAR programme, which has this year seen an increase in national funding to 7 million euro.
Under the project, local community groups will receive grants of up to 50,000 euro.
Among those to benefit are Kilkeedy Community Group, Scoil Muire Lahinch, Kilkee Playground, Kilfenora National School and Scariff Rugby Club.
While Kilmaley Community Walkway, Lissycasey Running Track, Kilmihil People’s Park, Tulla GAA Club, and Crusheen Sports Arena and Community Hub will also receive funding.
