More Than €386,000 In Funding Announced For 17 Clare Community Centres

17 Clare projects are to receive a share in almost 390,000 euro in funding to improve and refurbish community centres in urban and rural areas.

Grants of between 16,000 and 25,000 euro have been allocated by the Department of Rural & Community Development, under Category 1 of the new scheme, which caters for smaller scale improvements.

Funding for larger scale projects under Categories 2 & 3 will be announced in the coming weeks.

 

Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has welcomed the funding, saying it will maintain Community Centres playing a vital role in the social and recreational life of rural areas and enhance the work of local voluntary groups.
