Over €3.2m in government funding has been allocated for thirteen active travel projects in Clare.
The Tulla Road Rapid Implementation Active Travel Scheme has received the greatest boost with an allowance of €1.7m.
In total over €2.4m was allocated to projects in the county town which also included funding for works at the Gaelscoil, Ennis National School, Holy Family National School and the Limerick Road Scheme.

Elsewhere, the National Transport Authority has allocated €30,000 for footpath enhancements in the Ballycasey area of Shannon and €25,000 for works on the Ardnacrusha to Athlunkard Bridge.
While Clare County Council has been granted €100,000 to account for Active Travel Staff Costs.
