Clare County Council has been awarded more than quarter of a million euro to further the West Clare Railway Greenway project.
255,000 euro has been allocated towards the project, which is one of 26 across the country to receive a portion of a 4.5 million euro fund announced by the Minister for Transport.

The West Clare Railway Greenway project will follow the 85 kilometre route of the old West Clare railway line, where possible, connecting Ennis to Kilrush or Kilkee at a total cost of 20 million euro.
Clare’s Green Party Senator, Roisin Garvey says it’s a welcome announcement.
