€25,000 For Ennis Town Behaviour Change Project

€25,000 euro in public funds are to be spent on a project to change peoples’ behaviour around travel.

The money has been allocated to Clare County Council as part of a pilot scheme, involving Ennis National School and St Flannan’s College as well as two offices, where students and workers will be and potentially one public service office and one private company office to promote walking or cycling over driving.

The funding comes as part of 1.8 million euro awarded to Clare under the July Stimulus Package to develop active travel projects and climate change adaption measures.

Senior Executive Officer with Clare County Council, Leonore O’Neill, feels the funding is money well spent.
