The Bishop of Killaloe says concerns remain about income streams for the diocese into the future.
The Diocesan accounts for 2012 have been published, and show a further reduction in contributions, down by over €50,000 in two years to €742,000 – parishes are now being encouraged to expand their use of tax concessions for charitable donations.
The figures show annual expenditure has been reduced by nearly a quarter of a million euro in four years, but 2012 still saw €234,000 given in supports to survivors of abuse.
The accounts also reveal that members of the diocese have donated over €2.5 million to Trócaire and other relief agencies between 2007 and 2012.
