Transport Infrastructure Ireland has awarded €2 million to Clare for works on national roads.
The grant covers a variety of capital projects as well as maintenance works along the county’s national roads network.
A total of €2.06 million has been given to the Banner County under TII’s Grant Allocation to Local Authorities for National Roads.
Of this, €1.49 million is for capital investment which cover protection and renewal.
Among the projects supported under this allocation are minor works on the N19 Shannon Airport Access Road for which €842,000 has been set aside.
€120,000 will go towards minor works at Blake’s Corner in Ennistymon while €45,000 has been awarded for a pedestrian crossing in Doonbeg and the same sum has been granted for pedestrian and cycle crossings at the Clareabbey Roundabout between Clarecastle in Ennis.
An allocation of almost €572,000 has been given to this county for current maintenance, with route lighting on national primary and national secondary roads as well as winter maintenance among the works supported.
