€130,000 In Funding For Clare Archaeological Monuments

Clare has been awarded over €100,000 in Government funding for the protection of archaeological monuments.

Over €7.4 million has been allocated to 140 projects nationwide under the Community Monuments Fund which aids custodians in preserving and safeguarding historical structures into the future.

Killow Church in Clarecastle has received €100,000 while Moynoe Church in East Clare has been granted €30,000, giving Clare a total allocation of €130,000.

Minister of State for Nature, Heritage and Electoral Reform Malcolm Noonan says the funding represents “valuable investment in the wider heritage sector” and will create “thousands of hours of employment for specialist craftspeople and traditional skills practitioners”.
