Over €13.5m in funding has been approved for vacant and derelict property refurbishments in Clare.
The majority of homes in line to be restored are located in the west of the county.
So far, 225 people from Clare have been successful in their applications for funding under the vacant property refurbishment scheme.
The majority of these have been approved in the west of the county, with 86 applications given the green light in the Kilrush Electoral Area to date, to a value of €5.3m.
In North Clare, 44 grants have been approved, representing a potential investment of €2.6m.
Under the scheme, those renovating a vacant home which has not been occupied for at least two years can receive up to €50,000 for works, while €70,000 is available to those fixing up a derelict house.
Once an application is approved, the property owner has 13 months to complete the works and after a follow-up inspection, only then will the grant be paid out.
An investment of €2.2m has also been approved for 37 properties in Ennis, 31 applications have been accepted in East Clare and 27 applications have been rubber-stamped for homes in the Shannon Municipal District.
In total, a potential investment of over €13.5m is available to renovate derelict and vacant homes in Clare.
According to the local authority, 71% of applications received to date are for principal private residences, while the remaining 29% wish to supply refurbished homes for Clare’s rental market.
