10 million euro worth of drugs have been seized in Clare.
As part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 500 kgs of herbal cannabis.
This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Clare Divisional Drugs Unit and Gardaí from Limerick Division.
Two men in their 60s were arrested by An Garda Síochána and are currently detained at Garda Stations in Clare and Limerick under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996.
The seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations involving organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
