Over €100K Worth Of Drugs Seized And One Man Arrested In Ennis Under Operation Tara

Over 100,000 euro worth of drugs have been seized by Gardaí in Clare under Operation Tara.

A man has also been arrested during the course of the search of a car in Ennis in the early hours of this morning.

Shortly after midnight last night, Gardaí from the Clare Divisional Drugs Unit stopped a vehicle in the Tobarteascain area of Ennis.

During the course of a search, approximately 100,000 euro of suspected cannabis was seized and an occupant of the vehicle, a man in his late 20s, was arrested.

He’s being detained at a Garda station in Clare under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act.

During a follow-up search of a residence in the area, a further €5000 of suspected cannabis was seized, along with a weighing scales and other drug paraphernalia.

The seized drugs, totaling €105,000, will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
